— The usually uneventful NASCAR All-Star Race at North Wilkesboro Speedway took a dramatic turn when Ricky Stenhouse Jr. threw a punch at Kyle Busch. This incident occurred on Sunday, May 19, 2024, after a collision between the two drivers during the race.

Busch wrecked Stenhouse's car on the second lap, seemingly in retaliation for earlier aggressive driving by Stenhouse. In response, Stenhouse parked his damaged car in Busch's pit stall and waited in street clothes for Busch to finish the race. When Busch arrived at his hauler, Stenhouse confronted him and, after a brief exchange, threw a punch at Busch. The altercation quickly escalated, involving members of both crews and Stenhouse's father.

The brawl was broken up, but not before Stenhouse vowed to wreck Busch at the upcoming Coca-Cola 600 in Charlotte. NASCAR officials are considering suspensions for Stenhouse and other involved parties. Busch may also face penalties if it is determined he intentionally caused the wreck.

The race itself was won by pole sitter Joey Logano, who led all but one of the 200 laps. Despite the lack of on-track excitement, the fight between Stenhouse and Busch provided a dramatic end to the event.
