LOS ANGELES — Celebrities Chrissy Teigen and John Legend have announced their first joint business venture, Kismet, a premium pet food and lifestyle brand. Launched on May 20, 2024, Kismet aims to provide high-quality dog food, merchandise, and engaging content for modern pet parents.

“Dogs have always been a big part of our lives,” Teigen and Legend stated. “We were pet parents before welcoming our children, and we know the special bond with a dog. In a word, it’s Kismet. We wanted a brand that reflects the playfulness and messiness of dogs while offering exceptional nourishment and thoughtfully designed lifestyle goods.”

Kwane Stewart, DVM, founder of Project Street Vet and 2023 CNN Hero of the Year, serves as Kismet's chief veterinary officer. Stewart, known as the “Street Vet” for his work providing free veterinary care to pets of the homeless, sees Kismet as an extension of his mission to include nutritional support.

Kismet’s dog food formulas, developed in collaboration with board-certified veterinary nutritionists, focus on gut health and the benefits of certain grains like barley and brown rice. The products are free from corn, wheat, and artificial additives, aiming to bridge the gap between fresh food and kibble in terms of nutritional benefits and convenience.

The brand offers two dry food recipes combining kibble with freeze-dried pieces: Chicken & Barley and Salmon & Brown Rice, alongside two treat options. All products are currently available online at KismetPets.com, with plans to expand into retail.

Kismet also supports animal welfare through its philanthropic arm, Kismet Cares, benefiting Project Street Vet and Paws for Life.
