The president's offices in Lagos and Abuja are slated for full digitization, with an allocated budget surpassing N65 billion. Noting that this amount exceeds the recent N57 billion allocated by the Senate to the Police Trust Fund for the security of over 200 million people, there's a call for considering alternatives that could benefit the country more effectively, particularly in crucial areas like internal security.

Highlighting the state of police stations, it's revealed that over 5,000 stations lack functional vehicles, and even those with vehicles receive insufficient funds for fuel, hindering their ability to respond effectively to emergencies. To optimize the budget, the suggestion is to prioritize local manufacturing, proposing the purchase of 2,500 4×4 trucks from companies like Innoson at a discounted rate, amounting to N62.5 billion. The savings from the original budget could then address the fuel needs of these police vehicles.

Further analysis suggests redirecting the N15 billion earmarked for the Vice President's new residence. Instead of renovations, this amount could significantly increase the fuel allowances for police operational cars, addressing the longstanding issue of inadequate fuel funding and amounting to approximately N13.687 billion. This approach aims to reallocate resources for tangible improvements in police capabilities and overall national security.
