Uriel Oputa, renowned for her presence on reality TV, recently took a significant step in her reproductive journey by opting to freeze her eggs. The emotional disclosure unfolded in a heartfelt video shared on her Instagram platform, where she documented her visit to a fertility clinic to undergo the process of preserving her eggs for future use.

Egg freezing, as elucidated by the UK’s Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA), serves as a method to safeguard a woman's fertility, allowing her the flexibility to pursue family planning at a later stage. The procedure entails the extraction of a woman's eggs, followed by their preservation through freezing, with the intention of thawing them when needed for fertility treatments.

At 35 years old, Uriel expressed the urgency of taking this proactive step due to the biological reality that a woman's egg quality begins to decline after the age of 30, subsequently diminishing her chances of conceiving. In her Instagram caption, she highlighted the importance of creating awareness about this option for women and candidly shared her personal motivation: "I'm creating awareness!!! Apparently by 30, the quality of our eggs reduces. Ladies, would you consider freezing your eggs? Until Mr. Right comes? Creating awareness and educating myself and others. We walk on this health journey together."

Within the video, Uriel delved into the emotional aspects of her decision, acknowledging the societal expectations surrounding fertility and recognizing the ticking of her biological clock. She disclosed, "It's a hard pill to swallow; at this age I am now, my mother had five children. Time is ticking for me, and I am aware, so I decided to weigh my options. If that perfect man doesn’t come now, I need to secure myself and nurture my seeds." This poignant revelation not only sheds light on the personal struggles she faces but also serves as a platform to initiate a broader conversation about fertility awareness and choices.
